NZZL guest rules & safety guide

Welcome to your NZZL stay. These rules ensure a respectful, safe and culturally aligned experience for both guests and hosts.

In this article

  • Standard House Rules
  • Cultural Expectations
  • Service Animals
  • NZZL Services in Homes
  • Privacy & Family Areas
  • If You Are Unsure About a Rule
  • If Rules Are Broken

Standard House Rules

Follow all host-selected rules on pets, events, smoking, quiet hours, check-in/out times, guest limits, and photography/filming.

Cultural Expectations

  • Respect gender-mixing guidelines when noted.
  • Dress modestly in shared areas if requested.
  • Observe prayer-space etiquette if present.
  • Follow alcohol restrictions as per local regulations.
  • During Ramadan, maintain quiet daytime environments and be mindful of communal spaces.

Service Animals

Service animals such as guide dogs are always allowed and stay free. As dogs in homes may be culturally uncommon in some MENA regions, communicate respectfully with the host.

NZZL Services in Homes

Hosts may allow or restrict professional services such as photography, makeup, catering, spa or massage. Only use services permitted in the listing.

Privacy & Family Areas

Some homes may include female-only or family-only areas. Always follow any marked or communicated restrictions.

If You Are Unsure About a Rule

Guests are encouraged to ask hosts directly for clarification — polite communication is appreciated and helps prevent misunderstandings.

If Rules Are Broken

Guests must follow all standard and additional house rules. Hosts may report issues or request payment for damages through NZZL’s Resolution Centre.

Moroccan etiquette & norms

Morocco is welcoming, sociable, and proud of its traditions. You do not need to know every custom to enjoy your stay well. A respectful greeting, modest dress in traditional areas, patience in shared spaces, and appreciation for local hospitality will usually take you far.
